My Savior Lives in Me
There is no separation
My old identity has been co-crucified with Christ and no longer lives. And now the essence of this new life is no longer mine, for the Anointed One lives his life through me — we live in union as one! My new life, empowered by the faith of the Son of God, who loves me so much that he gave himself for me. He is dispensing his life into mine! (Galatians 2:20, TPT)
Before Our Father granted the gift of faith, belief in the saving work of the cross was impossible. We are born as enemies of God, no matter how we conduct ourselves. At that stage, we are like the old wineskins of the parable Jesus used to teach the disciples of John the Baptist. (See Matthew 9: 17 and Mark 2:22). They had approached Him, critical of the conduct of Jesus and His disciples. We bulge at the seams with the old legalism, seeking to meet the letter of the law, not the spirit. Only one experience can ready us for receiving the new wine of Jesus. Only the life-generating experience of being “born again” accomplishes this feat.
In an instant, a complete transformation is occurring. Made anew into receptacles for the new wine from the Lord, our bodies remain the old ones into which we have grown. Our hearts get regenerated and made sturdy for the life of the new covenant. A state that no amount of…
